As the Pandemic has come to a slight hold after the vaccination drive in all countries has begun, all countries have provided relief to passengers by removing the travel ban on international flights. As travel all over the world has already started, the new guidelines are there so that passengers can travel safely during these COVID times. So today, we will let you know about the guidelines for all the passengers travelling to India from abroad.
- All travellers travelling from abroad should submit their complete and factual information in a self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal through online mode before their scheduled flight, including the details of the last 14 days of travel history.
- Upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report* (The test should have been conducted prior to 72 hrs of undertaking the flight for the journey) or a Certificate of completing the full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Each passenger shall also submit a declaration regarding the authenticity of the report, and the passenger would be liable for criminal prosecution if found otherwise.
- Always wearing masks and using sanitiser on a regular basis is necessary.
- At the time of boarding the flight at the airport, only asymptomatic travellers will be allowed to board after the proper thermal screening.
- All the passengers are requested to follow all the In-flight announcements about COVID-19 and all the necessary precautionary measures regarding the same.
- If any passenger reports symptomatic of COVID-19 during flight, he/she would be isolated as per protocol.
- Thermal screening on a mandatory basis would be carried out for all the passengers by the health officials present at the airport.
- The self-declaration form filled online needs to be presented to the airport health staff.
- The passengers found symptomatic during the thermal screening shall be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility as per health protocol. If they test positive, their contacts shall be identified and managed as per protocols.
- In total, duration of 14 days of quarantine period shall be observed. 07 days of institutional quarantine followed by 07 days of necessary home quarantine.
COVID-19 Protocols related to travel during 2021
In the year 2021, there were strict protocols on travel as the 2nd wave of COVID occurred during that time. The delta variant emerged as one of the dangerous variants of COVID-19 and did a lot of damage in several countries, including India itself.
