In addition, some countries are allowing exceptions from the duty to quarantine. Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or recovery from Covid-19 must be provided if required. Baggage Allowances during traveling with Lufthansa
As carry-on baggage, passengers can take one item of baggage with them, such as a trolley case, a compact, foldable baby buggy or a foldable garment bag, or two items in Business or First Class. Dimensions for carry-on baggage: max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm and Dimensions for foldable garment bags: max. 57 x 54 x 15 cm. The cost for all types of baggage costs the passengers according to their choice of class preference. Basically 8kgs of carry-on baggage is allowed in economy and premium economy class. 16 kgs of carry on baggage is allowed in business and first class. Extra baggage charges are also applicable according to the extra per kg weight.

- In Economy and Premium Economy Class, a passenger’s baggage is considered to be excess baggage when it weighs more than 23 kg or is larger than 158 cm.
- In Business and First Class a piece of baggage is considered to be excess baggage when its total dimensions are greater than 158 cm up to a maximum of 292 cm.
- The passengers will be charged the flat rates for excess baggage if any of the passengers checked baggage corresponds to the allowed number of items but exceeds the permitted weight and/or dimensions, or if the number of checked pieces of baggage exceeds the allowance.
- On certain routes, as an Economy Class passenger, the passenger can benefit from discounted flat rates for the second piece of checked baggage (up to 23 kg/up to 158 cm).
